After nine years of successfully implementing other major ERP systems such as SAP, Oracle, and JD Edwards, Sunrise was recognized as a major player in the implementation and supply chain consulting business. Sunrise was approached by Microsoft to implement the Microsoft Dynamics AX ERP solution.

Sunrise had not previously considered becoming an ERP reseller, but because of the exciting future of Microsoft's convergence of platform technology and ERP technologies (see roadmap below), Sunrise agreed to sell and implement the Microsoft Dynamics AX ERP system.

Before becoming a Microsoft Partner, Sunrise researched all four Microsoft ERP product lines: Microsoft Dynamics GP, Microsoft Dynamics SL, Microsoft Dynamics NAV, and Microsoft Dynamics AX. Sunrise also considered other major ERP products in the market, such as SAP, Oracle, and JD Edwards. We decided to partner with Microsoft and to only resell the Microsoft Dynamics AX solution. We made this decision because we saw that Microsoft Dynamics AX had the highest level of functionality for manufacturing and distribution, our expertise. Sunrise consultants have in-depth knowledge and experience in both manufacturing and distribution, and our existing customer base was a part of this industry, so the Microsoft Dynamics AX product seemed to have the most natural fit for Sunrise.

In addition to the comprehensive functionality, the technical architecture of Microsoft Dynamics AX is superior to other ERP products on the market. Sunrise saw the Microsoft Dynamics AX solution as a key transition from yesterday's linear, rigid information systems to tomorrow's object-oriented, adaptive information systems.

By narrowing our focus to one product, we were able to concentrate our efforts in recruiting and training our consultants, giving them extensive knowledge on the product because it is 100% of their focus.
